ESPN layoffs: David Pollack, âGameDay analystâ latest to be laid off
David Pollack is the latest ESPN on-air talent laid off Friday.
In a New York Post report, Pollack, the “College GameDay” analyst, is among a number of ESPN personalities fired as part of Disney’s cost-cutting measures.
A number of personnel let go Friday, including NBA game analyst Jeff Van Gundy, NFL host and sideline reporter Suzy Kolber, NBA analyst Jalen Rose, NFL analyst Keyshawn Johnson and NFL draft guru Todd McShay.

Pollack has spent the last 14 years with the network.
Pollack contributed to the “College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings Show,” “College Football Live,” “SportsCenter” and more.
In January, during the College Football Playoff national championship game between Georgia and TCU, Pollack declared Georgia has “taken over college football” with Alabama coach Nick Saban sitting next to him. That, of course, set off a viral moment.
Pollack later said it wasn’t a shot at Alabama, though, Saban’s reaction was noticed by many.
The cuts are part of the plan by The Walt Disney Co. to lay off thousands of employees – including ESPN as part of a previously announced plan to eliminate 7,000 jobs this year.
The job cuts include entertainment, ESPN, parks, experiences and products. The company previously said that it doesn’t expect the job cuts to impact hourly frontline operations roles at its parks and resorts.
Disney CEO Bob Iger had announced in February that the company was going to cut about 7,000 jobs as part of an ambitious companywide cost-savings plan and “strategic reorganization.” The job cuts amount to about 3% of the entertainment giant’s global workforce.
